Website change

Hi,
Due to confusions between my two websites, "Tony Lilley Photography and Views of Cambridge", I have decided to close the Views of Cambridge website and move the Cambridge pictures to my main, Tony Lilley Photography website.
This is now done so Views of Cambridge website no longer exists.
Anyone using the Views of Cambridge address are now taken directly to the Pictures of Cambridge gallery at Tony Lilley Photography.
It's also part of a website upgrade to make the whole thing more user friendly, for myself as well as potential customers.

Music & Pictures

I have always like playing music (as well as making pictures) and learned to play the guitar, and more recently, the Melodeon. A short time ago I inherited a very old antique Melodeon that was made in the mid 1800's. I have been restoring it so that it can be played again. While doing this I thought it would be nice to get some pictures of it. One of these is a more creative shot, maybe illustrating red hot smoking folk music ?, who knows, I just felt like doing it !

Anyway here's the picture...

Fisher Square Arts & Crafts

Hi,
Sadly the Fisher Hall Art & Craft Market in Cambridge England closed after 30 years, this Christmas.
A core collection of Arts & Crafts people who were at the Fisher Hall will continue to exhibit and sell there unique Art & Craft under a new name of Fisher Square Arts & Crafts.
Fisher Square Arts & Crafts will be at the Soul Tree, that's above the new Cambridge Waffle Company, a new cafe, just opposite the Fisher Hall in Cambridge. There will be signs outside to show people where the new entrance is. There are good stairs or a lift for those who need one.

Fisher Square Arts & Crafts is returning to it's roots as being a venue for Artists and Crafts people only. You can be sure that all the items for sale are created by the Artist and Crafts people who sell them there.

Fisher Square Arts & Crafts will open on Saturday 19th January 2008 and it is our intention that this will be open every Saturday throughout the year.

For more information see the new Fisher Square Arts & Crafts website.

See you at Fisher Square Arts & Crafts in 2008.

Happy new year,

Tony Lilley

Fisher Hall Art & Craft Fair News, Cambridge, England.

Hi,
Here is the latest news update about the Fisher Hall, Art & Craft Fair in Cambridge.

FISHER HALL – 30 YEARS ON

Remember lava lamps, kipper ties and psychedelic prints?
Then you will be able to recall 1977, the year the Fisher Hall Craft Market was born.
In Guildhall Place, between the Lion Yard car Park and the Market Place, this weekly venue has over the past thirty years, become a Mecca for discerning Cambridge shoppers, visitors and tourists, seeking unusual gifts and tempting home accessories.
Run for the last 17 years by well-know local artist and printmaker, Rosemary Myers, the skill of its stallholders never ceases to amaze and delight.
Discover original design silver jewellery - the silversmiths also work in gold and will undertake commissions.
Choose bowls and ornaments skilfully turned from local well seasoned wood and find highly original pottery in unusual glazes and finishes.
Add to this knitwear, glass-painting, patchwork, devoure velvet and painted embroidered silks, fossils beautifully and artistically presented, plus oil paintings featuring Cambridge colleges, original prints, unique hand-made cards for all occasions and high-class photography and you get some idea of the wide-ranging talent exhibited here over the years.
Although we have hardly ever missed a Saturday, 2007 will be the last Christmas that this panoply of interesting presents will be available in Fisher Hall.
Sadly, the University Catholic Chaplaincy, owners of the hall have other plans for its future use.
Thanks to the far-sightedness and generosity of the owner of the Soul Tree (just across the passage) these gifted craftspeople from all over East Anglia will find a new home from Saturday, January 19th; upstairs above the Waffle Bar and still within a minute’s walk of the Grand Arcade.
Please come and visit us there in our 31st year.

For further information please contact Rosemary Myers.
